Terms of Service
Hey there,
Welcome to Spinney Media! We’re all about helping indie artists like you get your physical music out there
without the hassle. Here's the deal:
Subscription: You'll pay us a subscription fee for our services as listed on our website. This will be automatically deducted from your payment type on file either monthly or annually (whichever you selected).
Your Role: During sign up, you’ll sign up for an account, select and pay a recurring subscription fee, and then be able to add one or more albums (metadata plus digital art) for us to fulfill for you.
We’ll provide you with our shipping address. Then you will ship us your CDs, vinyl, and cassettes on consignment (you retain ownership) up to the maximum units (space) provided under your subscription plan. And then… actually, that’s pretty much it.
Our Role: We store your CDs, vinyl, and cassettes. We list your albums on our Marketplace and send you a link, so you can let your fans know where to buy your music. As we get orders, we pick, pack, and ship, making sure your music gets to where it needs to go. We also submit your albums to other Marketplaces we’re connected to and help you make some additional sales. Please note: Other Marketplaces (eBay, Amazon, etc.) have their own listing rules and acceptance criteria. We will submit to those Marketplaces and work with them to get your music listed wherever possible.
Shipping and Handling (S&H): With Spinney Media, you keep 100% of what we are paid for selling your album. We keep shipping and handling (which is paid directly to us by your customer in our Marketplace).
External Orders: If you make sales on other platforms (Bandcamp, Bandzoogle, etc.), we can fulfill those for you, too! We just need you to chat with us about doing your fulfillment (email us at support@spinneymedia.com). Once we’re fulfilling these external orders for you, we will charge our shipping and handling fees to your payment method on file prior to shipping your orders to your fans. Shipping and handling is calculated as shipping at our cost + $2 handling for each box shipped. Larger freight orders may require a custom quote.
Getting Paid: When you reach your first minimum payout (currently $20), we get your payouts set up. We will ask for your W9 (US) or W8 (non-US) tax form, and we’ll ask you for your preferred payment method. After that first payout, we’ll pay you monthly every time you meet or exceed the minimum payout threshold. Some payment methods carry a per transaction fee (we just pass that fee along if we are required to pay it).
Changing Your Subscription: Need more room? You can upgrade! Need less room. You can downgrade. Just reach out to us at support@spinneymedia.com, and we’ll get you all adjusted.
Canceling Your Subscription: Need to cancel? We’re sorry to see you go! Reach out to us at support@spinneymedia.com , and we’ll work with you on returning or recycling any remaining inventory at your cost and turning off your recurring subscription payment going forward.
Growth and Expansion: We’re on a mission to grow and help you reach more fans. As we expand, we’ll keep you in the loop on any new services or adjustments to our agreement.
