Welcome to Spinney Media! We’re all about helping indie artists like you get your physical music out there without the hassle. Here's the deal:

Subscription: You'll pay us a subscription fee for our services as listed on our website. This will be automatically deducted from your payment type on file either monthly or annually (whichever you selected).

Your Role: During sign up, you’ll sign up for an account, select and pay a recurring subscription fee, and then be able to add one or more albums (metadata plus digital art) for us to fulfill for you.

We’ll provide you with our shipping address. Then you will ship us your CDs, vinyl, and cassettes on consignment (you retain ownership) up to the maximum units (space) provided under your subscription plan. And then… actually, that’s pretty much it.

Staying in Touch: When you sign up for a free Spinney Media account, you're opting in to receive marketing and operational messages from us from time to time — things like new features, tips for selling more music, and important updates about your account or orders. You can opt out of marketing messages anytime by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing message. (Operational messages — like order confirmations or account notices — will keep coming as long as you have an active account because we need those to manage your subscription and account.)

Kitting and Bundling fees: Your CDs, vinyl, or any additional physical products must be “retail ready”, meaning that we need them to be shrink-wrapped, have UPCs, and “bundled” together if they are being sold as a set. Spinney Media can do this work for you for $0.50 per unit, which will be charged at the point of shipment.

Our Role: We store your CDs, vinyl, and cassettes. We list your albums on our Marketplace and send you a link, so you can let your fans know where to buy your music. As we get orders, we pick, pack, and ship, making sure your music gets to where it needs to go. We also send your listings to eBay and Amazon. eBay and Amazon maintain their own listing rules and criteria which may impact your album listings on those sites.

Shipping and Handling (S&H): With Spinney Media, you keep 100% of what we are paid for selling your album. We keep shipping and handling (which is paid directly to us by your customer in our Marketplace).

External Orders: If you make sales on other platforms (Bandcamp, Bandzoogle, etc.), we can fulfill those for you, too! You can review our how-to here: https://spinneymedia.com/got-bandcamp/. Once we’re fulfilling these external orders for you, we will charge our S&H fees (shipment at our discounted cost plus $2 per box) to your payment method on file prior to shipping your orders to your fans.

Getting Paid: When you reach your first minimum payout (currently $20), we get your payouts set up through our partner, Trolley. Trolley will ask for your tax form and your payment method. After that first payout, we’ll pay you monthly every time you meet or exceed the minimum payout threshold. Some payment methods carry a per transaction fee (we just pass that fee along if we are required to pay it).

Changing Your Subscription: Need more room? You can upgrade! Need less room? You can downgrade. You can make these changes directly in your Dashboard.

Canceling Your Subscription: Need to cancel? We’re sorry to see you go! You can cancel directly in your Spinney Media account by clicking on “My Subscription” and choosing to either downgrade (less storage, lower cost) or cancel.

If you have inventory in our warehouse, we’ll reach out to arrange to return it to you at your cost (our discounted shipping rate + $2 per box). If we are unable to reach you or charge your payment type on file, we reserve the right, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to recycle any inventory still on hand 90 days after your cancellation date.

Growth and Expansion: We’re on a mission to grow and help you reach more fans. As we expand, we’ll keep you in the loop on any new services or adjustments to our agreement.
